Biography

Dr. Collin Lowery serves as adjunct collaborative piano faculty for the University of South Alabama’s opera theatre program, and he is also the full-time organist and choirmaster at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in midtown Mobile. He has worked variously as a collaborative pianist, organist, conductor, drama teacher, vocal coach, and choir director for academic, religious, and professional institutions across North and South America. Some of his past engagements have included vocal coach at Seagle Festival in New York, choir and drama teacher at St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Tallahassee, music theatre faculty at Auburn University, music director and coach at Lees-McRae College Summer Theatre in North Carolina, and guest recitalist and lecturer at Universidade Federal da Bahia in Brazil.

Dr. Lowery earned his BM and MM in Piano Performance from the University of Alabama and his DM in Music Performance from Florida State University, where he completed a treatise on the art songs of Mary Carr Moore. He is a member of the Mobile chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), as well as the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Dr. Lowery enjoys living in historic midtown Mobile with his wife, Victoria, and baby daughter, Nora.
