Message from the Dean

The School of Computing at USA prepares students for jobs in a career field that is rich with a variety of opportunities. When students graduate, they are equipped for today's ever-changing, technology-driven job market. Our undergraduate majors are Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Health Informatics. Additionally, we have three graduate programs: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Information Systems, and a Ph.D. in Computing. Our state-of-the-art facilities, opportunities for internships, and cutting-edge research provide our students with an exceptional learning experience.

Graduate Lands Job at International Consulting Firm

When Mary-Stuart Lewis decided to study information systems at the University of South Alabama, she had never written a line of computer code in her life. "I just jumped into it," she said. "There's definitely a learning curve - it's like learning a new language - but it wasn't frustrating for me because I enjoy learning, and I love a challenge. I liked the web development classes, so I took as many of them as I could."

Undergraduate student Hassan Aziz enjoying summer internship at Airbus

Hassan Aziz, a senior Computer Science major, is spending his summer as an intern at Airbus. He landed the internship after attending an information event at Shelby Hall. Hassan is working as a cybersecurity analyst on a cyber awareness campaign, which involves writing weekly reports for internal communications.
