Lisa Gadel Johnston: A Retrospective

Lisa Gadel Johnston presented an exhibit of her works in the University of South Alabama Library, First Floor Gallery, May 26,  2010 – July 30, 2010. The subjects painted encompassed a spiritual energy that Ms. Johnston recreates through textured surfaces, color, light and pattern.  Imagery is created from photographic references, life and imagination;  and subjects are intended as a mysterious presence or fleeting impression. Her paintings suggest traces of a specific place and at the same time have a surreal, fantastical quality.
