Associate Dean for Research

Reporting to the Dean of the College of Medicine and Vice President for Medical Affairs, the Associate Dean for Research oversees the research mission of the Whiddon College of Medicine and the University of South Alabama Health System (USA Health). With the overarching goal of helping faculty achieve success in extramural funding, major responsibilities of the office include administering research cores and research support offices, disseminating funding opportunities, enhancing training for students and postdocs, promoting faculty development in research, allocating research space, administering intramural grants programs, and fostering collaborations in support of large program or center grants.
